Which Report Should I Use?

There are three main reports within FundRaiser for viewing donor or donation data: Master, Donor, and Donation. Each of these reports contains separate pieces of information, though there is some overlap between the reports. Each report has a unique use.

The Master Report is one of the few reports where you can see information for non-donors in your database. The variations allow you to look at donor codes, donor addresses, or donor information including gifts.

The Donor Report is focused solely on the donors within your database. With the variations you’re able to view either a total of donations for a certain time period or see individual donations. In addition, you can add email addresses, home phones, or mailing addresses to the reports under certain variations.

Finally, the Donation Report shows more detailed information about donations, including more codes than the donor report does. It also has a summary report, which is a statistical breakdown of the donations during the timeframe for all codes, both donor and gift, as well as a “donation slip” that acts much the way a deposit slip does for a check register. It’s a handy summary document to transfer to an accountant or someone to match up with the donations.

There are other reports within FundRaiser, such as analysis and comparison reports. However, these three reports form the foundation of our reports and with them, you’re able to view quite a bit of information about not just your donors, but everyone within your database.
