Tamara Lovan Joins the FundRaiser Technical Support Staff

Tamara Lovan is the newest FundRaiser Support Technician. You may hear her voice and enjoy her pleasant, easy-going style of helping people use their software now if you call in to FundRaiser Technical Support.

Tamara Lovan

She is enthusiastic about joining the FundRaiser staff and working in an area where her personal interest lies. Her computer involvement in the past has been with coding related to website and game development, and computer art, such as animation and 3D modeling. The graphic images in this blog post, including the header are Tamara's work. “I enjoy the educational aspect of it all.”

She was excited when the position opened up on the FundRaiser staff. Previously she had worked successfully as a manager at a restaurant. “I ran across the ad about the opening at FundRaiser chance and jumped all over it. I love the idea of the open office and being near the owners. I was in a corporate-run franchise, and I loved the people I worked with, but the ladder went so high that even raising an issue or speaking to someone who could do anything about it was difficult. I am happy now—happy to come to work and happy about what I do and the people I work with.”

She is a person who likes to help others. In addition to her customer service role at the restaurant, she also has volunteered at a local nonprofit. “When I was younger, I worked with a nonprofit called Project Love, in my hometown. Part of it was a thrift store, and I helped in the retail end of that. It's a way to give back to the community.”

She enjoys the Technical Support she has done already at FundRaiser. “People using software are often office workers and understand the technical side of things, and we have many customers like that, but some are not. For instance, I recently helped an older man, a pastor, who wanted to get a good handle on finances. He needed a little guidance to use FundRaiser to its best potential. He wanted to send out thank you letters to donors and to find out who hadn’t donated lately." Tamara helped him successfully do everything he wanted to do with FundRaiser.

Tamara is originally from Mountain Home, Arkansas, a town close to FundRaiser’s home office. She moved away and lived in other areas until 2004 when she returned to the area to be closer to her family. “My grandmother was sick and I wanted to be nearer to her and my mother.” Tamara has four children—3 girls and one boy, ages 15 to 7. In her spare time, she also enjoys playing on the computer, creating art with her partner, Tony.
