Making Great Groupings

One of the most attractive features about FundRaiser Software is its ability to hold a lot of information on your organization’s donors. By the time you utilize category codes and handle such things as Campaigns and Events, Memberships, and Pledges, you can have a lot of donor-specific information. Gathering this information into meaningful groups is the power of groupings inside of FundRaiser.

Let’s say you want to see who attended your events, but hasn’t given a donation. You can make a grouping for that.

How about someone who is a monthly donor who has never attended any events? That’s right. You can make a grouping for that.

Donation amounts, last donated dates (or never donated), location, age of the donor record…the ways in which you can make groupings which are meaningful for your organization is unmatched.

So here are time tips to make great groupings:

1) Don’t be afraid to get specific with your criteria. Knowing who gave less than a specific dollar amount last year while giving more in previous years, for example, can be very beneficial.

2) If you do get specific and don’t see the numbers you expect you should or none at all, don’t be afraid to give our support department a call. We’d be happy to discuss your grouping with you.

3) Do call our support department to walk you through groupings. We’re here for you.

You may wish to use groupings as you prepare your year-end appeal letters. I encourage you to use them to segment your database and make sure you’re sending the perfect letter to the right donor.
