Raymond started working in FundRaiser Technical Support in a smooth transition when former FundRaiser Support Technician Lee Johnson moved to another job. Lee asked Raymond if he might be interested in working at FundRaiser.

Raymond followed up on the suggestion and both he and FundRaiser staff felt it was a great fit. “I like it here. It’s a good place,” says Raymond. “I’m cheerful, and I try to have a positive influence. It’s great to work in a place like FundRaiser that values happiness, too, and wants people to be happy at work while they are helping others.”

Lee and Raymond knew each other from their former work at a computer repair store and from playing computer games together. Raymond also received his job at the computer store because of his friendly personality and ‘can-do’ capability. At the computer shop, Raymond took calls and fixed computers.  He loved the job, but when the owner retired and the shop closed, Raymond took a job outside of the computer field. He focused on being of service and connecting with people. “A large part of the next job was talking to people and making them comfortable. I was good at it and I liked that aspect of the work.”

Raymond was born in Baltimore, Maryland and moved to Drury, Missouri when he was 5 years old and his parents wanted to try their hand at creating a market vegetable garden. Although the whole family has moved on to new projects and jobs since then, Raymond stayed in the area, and  has lived in West Plains, home of FundRaiser Software, since 2001.

Outside of work, another part of his life that is going well is his new dog Athena, a little terrier/Chihuahua mix. “She is an adorable dog. She’s helped me. I’m a bachelor and it’s good to have something that I am responsible for. We are good for each other. People say we are somewhat similar. She has the energy of a terrier and the protection of a Chihuahua. “
